Pilotage

According to the Pilotage Act, some types of ships are subject to compulsory pilotage, but our pilots also assist ships extensively without compulsory pilotage. We have our own harbor assistants who are shipmasters on the pilot boats, and they also handle mooring, port supervision, etc.

The harbor assistants sail the pilots out towards the ships, so the pilots are ready when the ships approach the pilot buoy.
